Mia & Zoe Meet For the First Time

In early 2009, I decided it was time for another dog.  I’d always wanted 2 dogs- more to love, more to play, more to enjoy.  I didn’t want to wait until Zoe was too old to get a puppy & didn’t want to wait too long for a puppy to get out of the “puppy phase”, so we decided that summer of 2009 was the right time for us.  We’d be home for a few months, work was pretty slow & we were ready.  After searching for the right breeder & the right puppy, Mia was born in Louisville, KY on June 10, 2009 to Potter & Tag.

I flew out to Kentucky to pick her up & we had quite the adventure on the plane right back.  She quickly adjusted to life in our house, swims in the pool, morning jogs, snuggling with hubby & playing/wrestling/fighting/cuddling with Zoe.  We took several obedience courses, but sadly, they weren’t nearly as good (or perhaps I wasn’t nearly as diligent) as I was with Zoe.

Life with Mia has been both a blessing and a challange.  She’s the happiest dog I’ve ever seen.  At more than a year old, she still wiggles and waggles and hops and puppy-smiles at EVERYTHING.  Full of energy all the time, it’s been quite the adjustment for hubby and I have to have a puppy in the house who needs lots of attention and exercise.  Jumping in the lake on our morning runs to swim after the ducks or fetching her ball down the stairs until she’s almost too tired to climb or standing in the pool after hours of diving into the pool because she doesn’t want to get out, she brings laughter and miles of smiles into our life everyday.
