Sunday Scribblings #339 Creative
I haven’t been very good about Sunday Scribblings, after being pretty committed through the first half of the year, and this prompt was enough to bring me back & even motivate me after a long long day!
Just 18 months ago, a prompt like “Creative” wouldn’t have sparked any light in me, but I’ve come so far in such a short time! From taking the Pathfinder Course just over a year ago to ending up at the Creative Joy Retreat earlier this year. Being creative, in so many ways, is really important to me know.
I’ve obviously always been a shutterbug & really started taking photos 5 years ago when I got my first dSLR, but I’ve been really appreciating photography as a creative outlet in these last few months. I’ll confess I’ve been using my iPhone & my Instagram more than my big camera lately, and I’m ok with that!
I started my lowly writing career with the Sunday Scribblings prompts probably about two years ago. This weekly free-writing has blossomed into journaling more & even doing some “deeper” stuff over on Grow Soul Beautiful.
I attempted piano earlier this year & was doing relatively well as long as I found time to practice. Sadly, that hasn’t happened recently (SORRY MOM!), but I’m certainly adding that back to the New Years Resolution list.
I’ve done two painting classes, although I’ll confess I was aided with a few glasses of wine! I’ve been inspired to have fun & get funky in my yoga practice thanks to a few phenomenal yogi.
I love writing/scribbling/drawing on my beautiful board in my office- filling it with colors & wholehearted messages.
I’m having so much fun letting my guard down, trying new things, playing with ideas outside of the box, seeing things from a different angle and otherwise, embracing creativity in my life.
So, as you can see, I’ve become rather passionate about Creativity and helping others embrace their creative & dance to the song of life.
I’ll leave you with a quote I love about being creative: “Don’t think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It’s self-conscious, and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can’t try to do things. You simply must do things” – Ray Bradbury
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: 18 mile training run done AND knocked out photos for 10 yogi today!

So glad to hear the leg is healing up and that you have your NY trip planned
I loved seeing a show when were in NY in August, we saw sister act and it was great, but then I’m guessing almost all the broadway shows are great
Hope you have a wonderful little trip with your hubby while there too
I can’t believe it will be my first Broadway show! I’m not usually a “show” fan, but I’m thinking it’s finally time I checked out the real thing. Hope you are well Dawn!
