Pike Place Market Seattle

Saturday morning, we woke up bright & early and set out to explore downtown Seattle on our way to Bumbershoot.  Pike’s Place Market was on the way, so we thought we’d knock that out first.

It was busy & bustling, like most other markets on a Saturday morning.  I think my favorite thing was their cool clock.  We saw a few musicians here & there was a neat mural on the wall depicting some of the very tragic history of the market that used to be mostly occupied by Japanese before the interment.

Obviously the seafood was a big draw in Seattle, and I loved all the fresh flowers.  The market overall was smaller than I’d imagined & many of the other markets I’ve visited in the last few years.

I’m so fascinated by the rows & rows of gorgeous produce! I swear I’d eat more fresh fruits & veggies If I had one of these near me.

We picked up a little pastry for breakfast & made our way down the street, checking out the long lines of people in front of the original Starbucks enjoying a life band.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Headed out to Baltimore for Fitbloggin’ this weekend!
