It’s hard to believe 5 years ago I gave into the trend among all my friends & started a blog that now has 1,852 posts. I mostly started blogging as a place to put up all those photos I was taking with my fancy new dSLR camera and enthralling new hobby of photography. I’d been married just a few months & needed a new passion to fill the void after wedding planning. I started out in earnest on Blogger with generic templates and plugging away about the mundane details of our life, such as my garden, as well as working our way through all the exciting challenges in our 101 in 1,001 Days list. Our travels, and there have been so incredibly many, has always been a large part of the blog, but documenting the daily details of our life- big & small is now a really important reason that I blog to document my journey through life.

Over the years, my blog has undergone many changes- moving to WordPress, getting fancy make-overs with new colors and headers, using collages and bigger photos. There are times that life gets really busy & I find it a struggle to keep up with the blog, but I’ve always had a strong compulsion to keep blogging and wanted to get my posts & photos blogged. Last fall, during a particularly difficult time, I took a small break from blogging. But now, this blog is my baby- my creation, something I’ve poured thousands of hours into my place in this world, a fraction of the universe that documents my story. It’s so fundamentally a part of who I am and what I do, that it’s something I commit to doing almost every single day. Five years of my life, five years of my story, five years of all my dreams, desires, hopes, and adventures are documented on this blog, and to me that is really something special and spectacular.

For many years I was embarrassed to be a blogger, and didn’t really tell my friends or family about Click. The Good News. It’s been a long, slow journey deep inside myself to really find my voice, see my values, understand my passions, and let go of all those external expectations other often placed on me. I’m by no means finished with that transformation, but I’m so much more confident in who I am and what I want because I’ve given myself a voice online. Investing more in my blog, more in telling my story makes me value my little corner of the internet more and more as time passes.
My blogging journey has been such an incredible learning opportunity for me and opened so many amazing doors. I’ve met hundreds of online people who inspire and support me, I’ve learned so many new skills and e-lessons, and it’s really had a large impact on who I am. These past 5 years have prepared me open a new venue, Grow Soul Beautiful, where I can blog about my passions of photography, yoga, and soul nourishment. Learning, challenges, and leading are all some of my greatest desires, and blogging is always giving me endless opportunities for engaging in these activities. Now, as I set out to launch a new blogging adventure, I’m so much more grateful for all that I’ve learned and all that the incredible blogging community has given back to me over the years.
Thank you for stopping by & sharing life with me!
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: This adventure in life just continues as I hit up San Fran with my best friend.

Congrats! Ive been a follower of your awesome blog for some time (was one of your makeovers done by designer blogs? – I think I clicked on a link from there one day) …never commented before so perhaps that classifies me as a stalker!!! Oops! -sorry!! Love reading about your travels, running and Mia and Zoe – oh and wine!!! All of which we have in common! ( right down to the vizsla baby -we welcomed our pup into the family 2weeks ago!) Keep up the great work and your stunning travel photography!
A great big CONGRATS Amanda. That’s pretty amazing. Isn’t it something that a project that started out as a simple time filler ended up growing into a passion? Hope all is well with you, your family, and the four leggers.
Thanks for the kind words & coming out of lurking! So nice to “meet” you. Would you like me to add you to the list of blogging vizslas? http://www.clickthegoodnews.com/2009/06/01/blogging-vizslas/
Thanks Donna! We’re doing OK, Zoe has been a bit under the weather but she has stabilized for now.
Sorry to hear that Zoe hasn’t been feeling well, but glad to know she is currently stable. My thoughts are with you. Give her a hug from me!
