Last month, we planned a friend weekend at The Woodlands Resort with 2 of our best couple friends. We planned to check-in early afternoon, and then spend the rest of the day hanging out in the pool.
As we are almost in the Piney woods of east Texas, the resort mascot was a giant pinecone & we couldn’t resist a photo with him (it?).
I have no idea what happened between photo 2 & 3, but I swear I don’t remember doing anything too obnoxious.
We had a blast hanging out in the pool, catching up, trying some underwater yoga poses while my friends tried to tickle me, and then hitting the slide.
Bless the burst mode on my waterproof P&S! I have no idea what I’m doing here, but I sure enjoyed the ride down!
I can’t believe had been 3 years since we’d last done this little in-town staycation & couldn’t spend the night because I’d just returned from Lexington with my new puppy, Mia.
The guys got a little time to hang out and bond, and the girls did a little chit-chatting on their own too- mostly about the boys.
Near the end of the afternoon, I knew it was time to go when our friends started the chicken fighting. I was glad to not be involved in the whole kerfuffle, and happy to just be snapping photos of the whole hysterical event. It was lovely to hang with our friends, spend the afternoon leisurely floating around the pool, and soak up some sun with my honey.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Got to spend more time in the pool with our friends this week too!
