Last weekend, after hubby finished his pineapple upside down cake, my parents & family from Colorado came over. They were in town for a few days staying with mom & it was so good to see them. The puppies (especially Mia) are always a little rowdy when guests first arrive, but they generally calm down pretty quickly.

Everybody was interested in hearing all about his trip to India, so we pulled up the photos on Flickr using his iPad and he started sharing stories. One day when I finish our anniversary trip, I’ll see about getting some of his India photos up on the blog- I was very impressed with how well he did with the camera.

We’d had a crazy busy week and weekend, so we decided to skip actual cooking & just pick up some BBQ since they hadn’t had any yet on their trek down to Texas. My girls are no fools & know who’s most likely to sneak them a little treat on the side.

I hadn’t seen Sue & Don since my visit to Colorado last year when I ran the marathon, so it was awesome that they made the trip down to Houston in the crazy heat of our summer.

Don will be 90 years old later this year & they are both getting along remarkably well for their age. I’m scheduled to get up to Denver again this fall, so I know I’ll be seeing them again soon.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Headed to the baseball game tonight with husband & the parents.
