In early May, a day arrived that the “Friends Gang” had been waiting for a very long time- Mark was graduating from University of Houston- Downtown at Minute Maid Park. He’d decided to go back to school a few years back and has been working so hard to finish his degree.

It was really cool to see a graduation at a baseball park & they did a fabulous job of keeping everything organized and quickly moving through the hundreds of graduates. We all waited eagerly for Mark’s name to be called and cheered like crazy as he walked the stage to receive his degree.

Lots of out of town friends make the trek to Houston for the big event, and we all headed to the original Ninfa’s on Navigation for a celebratory lunch.

Even Dan made it in to town again & we were lucky enough that he stayed at our house all weekend! He’s a fab house guest

We hopped home to change clothes & then headed over to Jessica’s house for the big party.

We started decorating, checked out Mark’s amazing cake, and got all the BBQ going.

Once again, my parents made it out to the party & the party kicked into high gear when the Jello shots came out & the sake started flowing.

My husband has such a way about telling stories- I rarely capture his personality this well in photos!

Oh, we were working on doing some real celebrating this evening. It was already Texas-hot & we needed lots of cold adult beverages to stay happy.

There hundreds more pictures of the evening, but those shall stay off the internets! Needless to say we’ve got some great stories about flying bugs, shotgun duels, jalapeno fire faces, and so much more. It’s always such a blast to hang out with this group, especially when we are celebrating something as awesome as Mark’s graduation.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Gram was feeling under the weather a bit and is at the hospital, but she’s stable and hopefully nothing major.
