For John’s birthday back in January, we opted to boil up some lobsters instead of going out to a restaurant. Since taking our lobster cooking class a few years back, we’ve made it several times, but my parents haven’t had lobster in decades. Since we had 5 lobsters to cook, we fired up the propane cooker & filled up an enormous pot outside. Zoe wasn’t too amused by the lobster moving around, but she wasn’t happy about crawfish either.

Mom was busy snapping cell phone photos of the whole circus & John was enjoying his birthday cigar while watching college football in his favorite place.

We finally had to put Zoe in the yard when it was time to do the dunking. H was fabulous- he cooked all the lobster & then was kind enough to shell them all for us too.

Not only are lobster delicious, it’s quite an event to toss them in the pot & Gram was having a blast watching the whole ordeal.

We tossed some potatoes in the oven & added a crab cake on the side to make it a full-blown feast- we barely had room on the table for all our plates, fixings & melted butter. Everybody enjoyed the tasty fresh lobster & the adventure of trying something new.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Off to our second stop today- Bariloche in Patagonia.

that looks like so much fun!! sean and i had a bad experience with lobster when we were in mexico, but i think it might have been long enough that we’re willing to give them a second go-round some time soon…. maaaaybe…

Yum!!! Love that pic of your gram behind the fence. Great shots – though now that I know you better, I’m not surprised! =) Happy Friday!
