Plonk Beer & Wine Bistro

Several weeks ago I was able to venture out and check out a new(er) neighborhood wine bar- Plonk Wine & Beer Bistro over in the Garden Oaks area.

Located in a nice, new shopping center they have a full menu & have a few TV’s so you can catch the games.  They  have a fairly extensive menu of wines & a great little wall cellar area that I forgot to grab a photo of before I left.

There isn’t much yet on their website, but I get regular emails about various events & tastings they have.  I really liked the layout of the inside & they got fairly busy (after this photo) for a Wednesday night with a pretty hip crowd.

They have a very fancy menu (which can be seen here) with lots of eccentric and different types of dishes.  I liked being able to order a single cheese & then went with the scallops for dinner, which were delicious.

They are setup with 2 semi-private rooms in the front that would be great for a nice dinner party or group get together.

It was a bit too chilly to sit outside, but it would be a nice patio to hang out on a lazy Sunday afternoon (yup- they are open on Sundays!). I really enjoyed the neighborhood feel and how it’s a little outside of the traditional areas inside the loop to hit up a wine bar, but still had a great crowd and lovely wines.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: It’s catch-up and clean-up Saturday before the big Texans game.
