Brix Wine Cellar

Brix Wine Cellars is a great little place up in our neck of the woods (249/Spring/Cypress/Willowbrook) that I’ve been to several times, just never had the opportunity to take proper pictures & write up a blog review about the place.

Brix has been in Vintage Park since it opened a few year’s back & I love the entire area- especially the concept of a beautiful courtyard with a tranquil fountain in the center.  All the restaurants on the perimeter have outside seating & there is often live music on weekends, especially during the summer.

They have lots of wine events & specials all the time, so subscribe to their mailing list. My biggest complaint is that they don’t open until 4pm.

They offer a full dinner menu & have a very nice interior too.  You can see more photos from when I had my 30th birthday party there.

In addition to the bar area, they have private rooms & I was very impressed by how knowledgeable their staff was during my visit.

But my favorite part is the outside, although I do with they’d open earlier than 4PM.  They are expanding & opening up an adjacent lounge/bar (full alcohol) and an expanded patio area this month.

I decided to go for the Pinot Grigio/Pinot Gris flight so I could try several different wines before deciding on a glass.  I tried their cheese plate & it was so delicious that I forgot to take a photo!  We haven’t had dinner here yet, but will hopefully do so in the future.

UPDATE January 2012: Had a wonderful meal here.  The menu is a little small/limited, but food was excellent and the service impecable.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Excited to be headed home from Philly & hopefully on my last plane for the year.
