Crockpot Turkey Chili

Winter has arrived early & very cold here in Houston.  I promise I’m not turning this into a cooking blog by any means, but I’m excited to document my cooking exploits.  Last weekend we tried this recipe for Slow Cooker Turkey Chili and we really enjoyed it.

I altered a few things after reading many of the comments on the site, and I love how healthy and easy this meal is to make in the crockpot.

Opening the cans, draining them, washing them out & rinsing was the hardest part!

I browned the turkey  with some onions & garlic in a skillet, which only took a few minutes.

Tossed it into the crockpot & enjoyed the delicious smells all afternoon as I anxiously waited for my meal.

It turned out so good that hubby ate 2 servings & I only had 1 container of leftovers!  I’m excited to be cooking again, even if it’s just with a super simple recipe.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Pups need to go to the vet this afternoon & then I’m going dancing.

My turkey chili is almost identical to this! I love adding canned corn to chili – love the texture of it.

Seeing as how we are already having a wicked cold winter, I think I will be making this often!

  3. Looks good! Chili is great on cold days. If the weather forecast is right, it may warm up to 70 next week! That sounds like a salad night!
