My iMac is quickly approaching 3 years old & was running pretty slow- especially with the enormous size photos that I develop in Lightroom. I was considering getting a new one, but I found a tip online about easily swapping out the processors for some faster ones. For $50 on Amazon, I bought a pair of 2GB memory chips & doubled the speed of my computer. Considering I have 16GB on my work laptop, 4GB seems slow, but it’s still a big improvement for home!

I was a little nervous about doing the switch myself, but I found a few online tutorials that made it seem easy enough. I had my laptop showing me the instructions & within 10 minutes I was able to swap out the memory chips.

I didn’t even realize I could replace them myself & that there was a little, easily accessible panel on the bottom for the chips. It’s been a few weeks & things do seem to be running faster, but it’s never fast enough. I’m hoping this will get me through another year before I have the urge to buy an entirely new computer.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: I installed new wireless thermostats in the house & I’m loving them this winter!

Oh my goodness.
That would totally scare me.
Way to go : )
