Tower of the Americas

Besides wandering around the Riverwalk, the only other tourist thing we did was visit the Tower of the Americas in Hemisphere Park.

The park itself is beautiful and very San Antonio to me- lots of gorgeous stone and soothing waterfalls in the area.

All the ponds and amazing old trees surrounding the park made it gorgeous- I kept thinking about what a beautiful place it would be to get married.

I’ve been carrying my 10-24 wide angle lens around more often just to get great shots like these.  We also opted for the 5 minute 4D movie that was all about the wonders of Texas from the air- it was totally worth it and cracked me up, in a bad ride, cheesy type of way.

I love to get up high when traveling and look down on a city- it gives you a new perspective and appreciation for the town.

The park & road on the left is where all the start corrals for the marathon lines up, and the photo on the right is the tringle by the cool sculpture and right on the Riverwalk.

I love how this church stood its ground and they built the Rivercenter mall around it.  The Alamodome is a very impressive looking building from the outside & I was really surprised that it’s not getting all that much use these days.

H was in San Antonio for his national sales conference last year, so he was pointing out some of the antics and adventures. And yup, the Zoltar totally cracked me up and I couldn’t resist getting my fortune while we waited for the elevators back down.

Walking back towards town, I caught sight of the tower again s we were descending down to the Riverwalk past this beautiful rock waterfall.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: I’ve got a day of organizing and chores planned for my day off today! And go Longhorns!!!! :)
