So I did more than run the marathon in San Antonio- we did some actual sightseeing this time as we stayed down on the Riverwalk. Since we drove in from Houston on Friday night, we arrived late and hungry, so I only have a few night shots with my little P&S camera. It was cold & the wind was tormenting my hair, so please just focus on the tasty strawberry margarita.

There are so many beautiful things to see and photograph in San Antonio, I was in heaven. I just adored all the bridges and the Mexican cultural influences really give character to the city.

Bars & restaurants line the Riverwalk as it winds its way around so much old history & so many new alcoves just waiting for people to lounge in it.

I had no idea that the Texas Ranger museum was located in San Antonio, but it was hard to miss with its *interesting* exterior decor.

Many old buildings downtown with interesting shapes & beautiful exteriors.

Packet pick-up for the race was at the Alamodome, so we strolled over there. It’s quite an interesting & beautiful stadium, without any real permanent teams since the Spurs abandoned it several years ago.

I’d initially thought we were headed to the Convention Center, but I’m glad we checked it out anyway- it’s very pretty & idyllic sitting on one of the branches of the Riverwalk.

I just loved this stunning mosaic that was on the Convention Center & we later learned that San Antonio is a new convention hotspot.

For some reason, I adored this funky sculpture in the middle of a roundabout- I think more traffic control devices need to be beautiful

We walked past several neat areas of town, including this cool building for the Cultural Institute of Mexico.

Back downtown, we were lucky enough to catch the Veterans’ Day Parade right in front of the Alamo.

There were tons of high school ROTC and also numerous real military marchers, as San Antonio has a huge military presence due to several bases in town.

We sat on the curb, enjoying the warm sunshine for over 30 minutes, checking out adorable little girls like these go marching past.

We’d toured the Alamo before and it’s usually crazy crowded, but we did walk by and I couldn’t resist taking at least one photo.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Got my nails done yesterday- with my mom & John, we were precious!
