Chicago from Above

Several weeks ago on my way to southwest Indiana, we made a connection through Chicago on a gorgeous day and I had my new iPhone 4s handy, so I thought I’d grab a few more pictures of this fabulous town for my airplane shots.

Hubby and I were just talking this past week how we need to find an excuse to go back to Chicago since we had so much fun on our last visit.  We were thinking St. Patti’s day, but it would be cold!  Maybe a concert?  Are there any good summer festivals?

One of my favorite things about big cities is all the sprawling urban parks that provide an escape for so many people.  I even got lucky enough to catch another plane flying parallel with us as we headed towards the airport.  I love the quality of these photos & the brilliant colors- all without having to lug my dSLR around on every trip.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Back to running, yoga and dance today!

Love the pictures. I grew up in Chicago and love that city so much. You guys should go in June for the blues festival. Chicago is the home of the blues and most hardcore Chicagoans would tell you Muddy Waters invented electricity not that other guy. Or there is taste of Chicago in July I think.

I’m not from Chicago but the Taste of Chicago happens sometime in the summer. I am from Milwaukee which is only about 60-90min north (depending on where you are) and we have one of the largest music festival at the end of June to the beginning of July. It’s called Summerfest….10 days of concerts (and food) on the lakefront. There isn’t much on their website for 2012 yet but this link gives you an idea of some of the acts that were there in 2011: http://www.summerfest.com/2011headliners/ I believe it might even coincide with the taste of Chicago so you could double dip!
