I did so good on my 30 Days of Lists group writing project and even managed to get Part 1 blogged in a reasonable time frame. However, the final follow through has been woefully slow, but I’m fixing that today- a month late just seems perfect. These little Seuss notes make me smile with their quirky sweetness, and it’s been interesting having some time and space between when I wrote these and looking back at them now.
It was ironic that a few days after “My Dream Space” prompt, I was in Colorado and again focused on all the things I’d want to have a beautiful life and did some journaling about them in my Pathfinder course.
Again, not being much into TV, this list was pretty short. I do miss great shows in re-runs; I spent most of my childhood watching shows like Family Ties, Cheers, 3′s Company and Friends (when I was older) as reruns instead of their original airing. I’m not much of a procrastinator about anything, but there are a few ways I avoid housework.
“If I won the lottery…” was a great day dreaming prompt & I’d love to know if a $500 bottle of wine really does taste that much better. I’d have a wicked good camera & somebody to cook healthy meals for me all the time. Approaching flu season again, I’m pumping up on vitamins to avoid needing any of those sick items.
I write “TO DO” lists almost everyday & this was an easy prompt. The birthday one was great fun too- I’ve got 7 months and some really big dreams for things going in, including my Pathfinder word for the year, Light. I’d love to spend some time being intentional about my photography and getting better with people. I’ll start crossing off some things on my Life Menu of Awesome and get some more travel in for marathons & our 5 year anniversary.
I’ll be the first to admit my vocabulary and writing skills aren’t the best on the blogging block, and there are many words that I use too often. Ruler of the world was a fun prompt & great imagination exercise- you can see politics and social justice were on my mind that day. Although I can’t wave a wand to change all those things instantly, I’m hoping to find ways to make small steps in many of those areas.
September was a crazy month- both working a ton of overtime & traveling so much. There were lots of fun things & one of the most stressful weeks at work I can remember, but it’s great to look back at all the experiences and all I accomplished last month. Oh pride! I am doing a good job in some of these areas & obviously I’ve still got lots of room to improve in others. I just hope the events of the last few weeks grow me as a person & make me every stronger in these areas.
That’s it folks- a full month’s worth of creative writing prompts. I enjoyed most of them, but was a bit less enthusiastic by the end. Between my journaling for Pathfinder, my daily calendar cards & my over-book schedule, this simply wasn’t a priority and I didn’t put as much time into it as I could have. I didn’t really follow much on the blog since it wasn’t feedreader supported & I didn’t have much time to go there every day. The flickr group was very active & I wished I’d had more time to see other people’s creativity and ideas.
I put all my notes back with my first 30 Days of Lists from April. Not sure if I’ll do another one anytime soon, as I’ve found some other great writing projects and the joy of a daily journal. If you wanting to do a small, creative writing project with a great online community, check out their blog for their next group writing series.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Adios October & good riddance! November is going to be full of good things & I’m starting this group blog project, Proverbs in 30 days.

Holy cow, I’m in LOVE with that Dr. Seuss paper!! Having lists like that is a great idea, I may have to do something like that in the near future – I love that kind of stuff!
Thanks- I received it as a Christmas present last year & it brought back so many memories reading the quotes everyday. I think the 30 Days of Lists gals are going to be doing it again in a few months. It’s a nice creative outlet & a chance to pause in the middle of the day to do some reflections.
I absolutely love this idea and the photos you got to capture it are great!!
