Walking Ms. Ginger

Now that Stephanie lives in the city, Ms. Ginger is a city dog and requires walking since they have no backyard.   Since the weather was nice, it was actually pretty awesome to take leisurely walks around the neighborhood several times a day.  There are a few parks within a block or two of their loft, so we had several places to try out.

Another fun fact of being a city dog is that you get rooftop baths.  Combined with the great view & a little help from Ken, Ginger got a bath while we enjoyed the view.

Saturday morning, we grabbed coffee and went for a nice long stroll on Penn’s landing.  I loved watching their family dynamic and how happy Ginger was to be trotting along the waterfront.

Down by the water, Stephanie let Ginger roam around freely & she checked out all the birds and ran along the boardwalk.

Beautiful Ginger!  I loved photographing her ears flapping in the wind & am so happy to have some pictures to give my best friend.

Ms. Ginger is getting up there in year (I think she’s about Zoe’s age), but still does some short runs with Stephanie.

Very happy family and I love how Ken helps take care of Ginger.  She was wiped out from our big adventure and found a nice sunny spot on the floor for a nap.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Flying to Chicago and spending the night in Moline tonight for my last officially booked trip this month- can’t wait to spend more time at home.

  1. Ginger looks like a great dog! I’m sure Stephanie loves having all these great pics of her!

Ahhh, Chicago. Will be headed there myself in a week and a half….and then again 2 weeks after that.

Enjoy your home time, girlie! =)

  3. Awwww….Ginger looks like just such a sweet old girl. Some people feel bad for city dogs, not having yards and all that, but ones with owners like your friends really do get so much MORE socialization and outings then ‘country’ dogs.

Thanks- she is really quite a charming older lady & very laid back at this point in her life. I was amazed at all the people out walking dogs and talking them place- she goes shopping with them all the time & they just tie her up to a post outside of stores and she chills out while they run in for things. I don’t think I could take my suburban dogs and do that.

Thanks- I think I might make her a collage for Christmas with Ginger pictures. Have fun in Chicago- i’d love to go back and visit the city again (instead of working in the countryside).

  6. Yeah, I definitely couldn’t do that with any of mine. Hmmm….Chill while I go into a store? Leah and Med would freak, and Toby’d probably pull the post from the ground. :-)
