Doors

Lots of stuff going on in my life right now- changes at work, transitions at home, exploring my inner-most thoughts through my Pathfinder course, tons of travel for work and for fun.  I was struck by the beauty of this door last week at Cha & fell in love with the ornate handle against the rugged textures of the wood.  How the delicate swirls simply existed to beautify the sturdy and strong door.   How many people have walked in and out of this door over the  years?  From what distant woods did that lumber travel on its journey from a beautiful tree to a portal in the middle of Houston?  Who crafted that detailed and stylish door handle and who decided to carefully select just this one for this particular wine bar?

I’m spending lots of time these days going full-speed ahead and then stopping myself to ask deep questions about my life and my future.  I’m trying to take in all of the crazy and chaos of our world and make some sense of it instead of just barging straight ahead from one panic to the next.  There are so many options and doors to choose from, I’m busy both methodically and objectively evaluating things and at the time trying to find stillness and solitude to listen to that inner instinctive voice about which doors are worth unlocking, opening and going forward.  Blogging is taking a back seat at the moment; if I have time to gather some coherent thoughts or process some photos, I might manage to post a few sporadic things.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: I’m really getting into journaling and having a blast doing it.

I think they will be good in the end- even if the journey is a bit bumpy at times, it feels good to be moving. Thanks!
