Last Friday after my haircut, I had the opportunity to check out Cha Champagne & Wine Bar instead of sitting in traffic. It’s been a while since I’ve visited a new wine bar (we keep going back to the same ones) and added it to my list of Houston Wine Bars.

There are several lounge areas with couches and tables to pick your style of wine relaxing.

Nothing better than a wall of wine!

There’s a small private room in the back with more places to lounge while sipping on wine or Champagne.

I sat at the bar, intending to get some work done, but I ended up visiting with the bartender whom I talked into putting together a custom flight of various bubbly drinks for me to try. I’m not much of a champagne drinker- I still think of it as a special occasion drink, but I’m thinking about adding more of it to my life.

I super-puffy heart wine bars with patio lounges, especially as we head into the fall season. Cha has cozy downstairs area and a pretty good size deck upstairs where you can look towards Allen Parkway or get a peek of downtown off in the distance.

They have a light menu- some pizzas and other snack plates, but I ordered the cheese plate and happily munched away on it.

After all the light white bubbly wine, I settled on a hearty Pinot Noir from Argentina called Cashburn. I really liked the atmosphere of Cha- the waitstaff was excellent and the music was enjoyable. The crowds started picking up as I headed home, but I can totally see myself spending the evening here with hubby or friends.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Happy hour after work & then vacation!

How fun! Champagne is BY FAR my favorite drink! So… when I’m post natal, I ought to give this place a visit!
