SS: Tomorrow

Sunday Scribblings #238: Tomorrow Why put off today? The sun will come out. Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow. The diet starts…   There is so much energy and power in what we put off until or do or plan for tomorrow. What do you make of it?.

Behind on blogging, I skipped Sunday Scribblings all of June, July & August, last Sunday Scribblings was in May!  I’m glad to get a breather on my photos/travel/blogs to have time to do some creative writing.  I’ve also started on the September 30 Days of Lists community journaling project & it’s not too late to join if you love lists & want to add some craftiness to your next few weeks.  I’ll be sharing my lists when the month is over like I did before.

Tomorrow is Labor Day & it’s hasn’t been a very labor free weekend. I didn’t get home from work in Dallas until 9PM on Friday & started the holiday weekend late.  I worked an hour yesterday cleaning up notes & then had to meet a police offier today for a scene inspection in Hockley.  Tomorrow, I’m actually headed into the office to do some catching up since I will be flying to Illinois first thing on Tuesday.

Tomorrow I’m starting a few cool e-course from Karen Walrond from Chookooloonks called Pathfinder. It’s a 5 week guided study aimed to provide some life guidance by focusing on introspection, visualization, implementation, imagination and reflection. I’m looking forward to some “self time” to let my mind wander and my soul rest while I do some soul searching while journaling.

My first thoughts when pondering “Tomorrow” revolve around the song from Annie.  I sing it in my head and “Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you, tomorrow, you’re always a day away!”

My mind is constantly stuck in tomorrow & I’ve been trying hard (and this is where yoga is helping me) to keep my mind focused on today & being present in the moment.  I tend to be the anti-procrastinator and insist that everything needs to be done this instant.  Now generally, procrastination is bad, and I there are very few things that I procrastinate about doing.  However, I think my life would be a bit more balanced if I learned that a few things can wait until tomorrow & today is more important to relax and enjoy.  I have taken a break from my volunteering for this fall, both at GED and at church, and I am enjoying the extra free time in during the week nights and sleeping in on Sunday mornings before church now.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Round 2 of tennis with hubby today & it was a blast, especially in the cooler weather.
