Hubby has officially had his Murano 3 months shy of 3 years & decided he wanted some new wheels. He’d been checking out cars for a few months & I vetoed his plan to get a little weekend classic roadster, and when he started looking into them last weekend, he really loved the new Jeep Grand Cherokees.

I’ve had my Jeep Grand Cherokee for almost 8 years & it’s been a love-hate relationship. Hopefully hubby will have much better luck with his than I did with mine. He’s thrilled & happy to have a new ride for all those hours he sits in traffic every week.

My favorite thing so far is the ventilated seats that keep the black leather from reaching 110 degrees like the exterior.

He’s got all the bells & whistles, including a 4×4 we will probably never use, and he couldn’t live without his nav system and Sirius radio.

The other big thing he was excited about was the enormous sunroof (or ejection portal as I say in my business). It was too hot & sunny this weekend to open it much, but I look forward to cruising around with it open this fall.

Since hubby got a new car, I decided I deserved a new fancy lens! I’ve rented the Nikon 85mm f/1.4G before and loved how it takes incredible portraits. I probably won’t be using it too much right now, but it will be a lens I hang on to for years.

I was in town hanging out with some other Houston bloggers & H was working, so we met up for dinner…I can’t believe we are now a 2 Jeep family!
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: For the first time in months, the forecast has rain and some high temps of “only 90″ degrees this week!

After you commented on my blog I looked up the weather – not that I didn’t believe you, but just that it seemed to good to be true. 85 is the high on Thursday and it comes with thunder storms. Yay!
Congrats to your hubby on getting his new car! Bells & whistles ROCK!
Oh and thanks for the resort tip on my blog – I’m gonna check it out!

My mom has a Grand Cherokee too, and also has a love/hate relationship with hers. It does look like a pretty sweet ride though!

I have the 85 1.8 and love it, my go to for portraits. I didn’t realize you shoot mostly with the 18-200, I’m starting to consider that one as a travel lens.
The Cherokee looks nice!

Thanks! Since most of my photog stuff is for fun & for “life”, it’s so easy to have a versatile lens and never have to worry about changing. I have been using the 10-24 a ton lately for inside/architecture shots since it can go so wide.
Good to see you yesterday
I love my GC since it was my first car that I bought, but it’s been a total lemon & very feisty. I still have problems with it, but somehow still love it. I’m not much of a car person- it’s just a ride to get somewhere & a place to tote the dogs around. No use in getting something all new and fancy only to fill it with muddy dogs and stink yoga gear!
Ah I’m so jealous that he got the new Grand Cherokee! I have a Liberty and love it but once it’s time to trade in, a Grand Cherokee is definitely what I’ll be looking at!
I wish I could have made it to the blogger meet up. I planned on it then Sunday morning got really overwhelmed with how much I needed to do so decided not to go. It was probably in my best interest but I still want to meet all of you ladies!

We missed you & it was a good GTG. I think I’ll be traveling for the Sept & Oct HTH meet up, but maybe we can plan something for the NW fitness gals.
