When visiting Costa Rica, the Hanging Bridges are always on the list of things to see. We booked a tour through the hotel & were taken about 20 minutes away from the Resort to a beautiful forest area.

At the main office, we saw a several (a flock?) of toucan birds flying between trees- they were so cool, but I was trying to save my camera battery so this is the only shot I was able to take. If I recall correctly, I think there were like 10 bridges to cross- some high, some low, some short & some long on our 5 KM hike through the rain forest.

The highlight/destination of our was this beautiful waterfall that we hiked down to & then had to hike back out. All the trails were very easy, but I honestly thought most of the hike was fairly boring. We didn’t really see much wildlife or any exciting plants. There were a few neat things & maybe I was just in a bad mood because I was rationing my camera shots, but I didn’t really feel like the tour was worthwhile.

Although some of the bridges were high above the ground, the towering trees made you feel surrounded by branches & not up as high as you really were. We did get one good viewpoint, but the Arenal volcano was still hiding behind the clouds. The one cool animal we saw a few times was the blue jean (denim?) frog that was red on top and appeared to have on pants.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: In town again all this week with no travel, even though hubby is headed to Atlanta and Kansas City.

that frog looks like it is spider-man themed! so cool!
