This has been an epic summer for swimming at my mom’s pool- between the ridiculous heat, Zoe finally getting comfortable that Mia isn’t going to drown her & the case of Lightning Bug water toys that I purchased. We spent Friday afternoon & Sunday afternoon in the pool trying to stay cool.
Stick in a battery & these little bugs are propelled forward- up and down, all around the pool. The dogs, especially Zoe, are obsessed with chasing them around for hours at a time.
Unfortunately Zoe finally catches them and loves to chomp down, splitting them in two. We have to find the pieces & this usually puts some small holes into the bugs where they can leak water in. Once they are filled with water, they sink to the bottom and dont float back up.
That doesn’t really stop Zoe & she doesn’t realize it’s not coming back up- she swims for 10 minutes at a time circling around looking for her bug, but sometimes she just stands there and cries, making all sorts of awful and obnoxious sounds.
These were from earlier this summer, the same day Haley was over swimming, but I just can’t get enough of leaping Mia- since that what she does dozens of times in a row every single time we swim.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Hubby is off to Ohio today to star in his first movie- even if it is a commercial for a client.

I love Mia’s big jumps into the pool and I had to laugh at your comment about Zoe deciding that Mia wasn’t going to drown her afterall. Too funny! Thanks for the Amazon gift card!!
Every time I see that pool I get jealous!! LOL! It almost looked like Mia was going to land on your head. She is some jumper. Poor Zoe, singing for her toys, “Just throw them already, Mom. You can buy more if I break ‘em!”
