The final leg of my Seattle Marathon & Washington weekend was a work trip down to Reno/Tahoe/Squaw Valley. I flew down and met my boss in Reno, and we took the scenic route around Lake Tahoe to get to our convention area. Lake Tahoe was the very first vacation hubby and I took together in 2004 and I have such fond memories of the place- including the amazing scenery. We just stopped for lunch where we could sit outside and enjoy being on the water.

The day was sunny and windy, but there were a few brave souls out on the chilly water doing some kayaking. Most people were hanging out on the beach enjoying the sunshine.

Behind us, the mountains and ski paths stood tall and beautifully.

We decided to walk down to the water & take a short stroll on the beach. Something therapeutic about sinking your toes in the sand and hearing the waves lap on the shore.

My boss was even so kind to take a picture of me! I was sad that our actual convention wasn’t in or around Lake Tahoe, so I’m glad we were able to squeeze in a short visit.

I’d love to go back for a short vacation with hubby (even if there are still hundreds of other places I’d like to see). If you ask me about my perfect vacation, it includes mountains, water and trees. That’s why I loved placed like Puerto Vallarta, New Zealand and Cape Town.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY:
I officially added a Houston Blogger badge on the sidebar & we are having another meet-up at the end of August if you want to join us!
