Olympic National Park

On Sunday after the Seattle Marathon, I set out on a little road trip with my family to see another national park & we decided to check out Olympic National Park since it was such a gorgeous, clear day.  It was only about 2.5 hours in the car to get across the Hood Canal and circle around to the north side of the park and enter through the Port Angeles area.  There is no criss-crossing this park, only going around and entering at a few limited spots.

I’m still new to visiting national parks, so I’m always super excited when we start driving in & up to gorgeous views in the mountains.

I loved the old, old trees standing there so grandly & barely hanging on to the steep cliffs.

Get me around gorgeous peaks and a little terrain and I am such a happy camper- I could stare at this scene all day long.

Weather is always up in the air around mountains- it was cool that many peaks still had snow, even if some had mostly clouds/fog that day.

This picture is really dark, but I wanted to share that we could see the Cascade Mountain range waaaay off in the distance if you looked really closely.

Along the drive up to the ranger stations, there are several pull-outs to let traffic pass and to stop and enjoy the view while taking tons of pictures.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY:  I missed a milestone while I was on vacation and just now noticed I’m up to 1,510 posts.
