Greenbank

There was another winery listed on my map, Greenbank Cellars, but I stopped in and they didn’t appear open.  I waited for about 20  minutes to see if they were just running late, but never got a chance to go into this neat barn to sip on wine.

On the property, there was a little art gallery and even a studio where it looked like an artist was still generally working.

But this was all I got.  All these wineries in this area are small and generally family owned, mostly only open on weekends, so I I wasn’t too surprised that this one was closed.

In town, there is a really neat cooperative farm that belongs to the community where they raise flowers and produce called Greenbank Farm.

It was an old farm that they bought out and is now owned and ran by the community.  Unfortunately, it started pouring rain as I pulled up, so I didn’t get too many pictures of the outside gardens.

Inside, there was a popular little restaurant and a tasting room with wines from all over Washington State.  If I hadn’t been running a marathon the next day, I would have surely stopped to taste a few more, but I wanted to save my tasting for wine from the wineries where I visited.

GOOD  NEWS OF THE DAY: DHL says my battery and chargers are set to arrive today so I can rejoice as I have my camera back.

  1. What a charming town. Too bad it started to rain at the farm – looked like a fun place to explore and photograph.

I know! I loved the idea of a community farm where everybody works and everybody gets something- I need that :)
