I set out on Friday to drive north on Whidbey Island and visit a few wineries and eventually circle back down to Seattle. My first stop was at Holmes Harbor Cellars, just a short drive north of Langley and was greeted by the winery dog.

This was a small little, family owned winery where I met the owner as he opened the doors at 11AM. It’s always cool to see some of the behind the scene winemaking tools.

I sampled a few of his delicious wines and had a nice visit with him and a few of his friends/family that were there that morning working around the vineyard.

They actually grew some of their grapes on Whiebey Island and bought some from other areas in Washington. He had built most of the things on the property himself and was getting permission to plant a few more acres of grapes on some nearby land.

A great quick stop and wonderful start to the morning- I even picked up a bottle to gift my family with in Seattle.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Off to our second destination in Costa Rica on the coast this time.
