My destination for my one night getaway was The Inn at Langley, a great boutique hotel about halfway up Whidbey Island and with gorgeous waterfront rooms.

I picked this place for its location to the lovely seaside town of Langley & the serene grounds.

It was actually raining the next morning, so I didn’t get a chance to photograph the beautiful dining room, but they served a lovely breakfast just behind this garden area.

There are several floors and a luxury spa located on premises, which I didn’t get to try since they were booked the following morning.

I loved relaxing and resting in my room. It was bright and modern, with lots of cozy touches like robs and the wood burning fireplace.

Windows on to the bay were what should this room- I could sit and stare outside all day long watching the scenery change.

I rocked in the chairs, sat on the deck, enjoyed a bottle of wine with the glasses the provided and spent several hours the following morning just catching up and slowing down.

The bathroom was also pretty fancy- that tub was great for a late evening soak as I watched the sunset.

But really, this was the best thing about the hotel. The views being so close to the water and having a private deck to enjoy the fresh air and watch the birds was really amazing.

There was a little boardwalk and sitting area down by the water for all the guests to use.

Thursday afternoon was really gorgeous- the water was calm, the sun was out, the breeze was gently blowing and life was very good.

The hotel was great- beautiful accommodations, excellent location, great views, peaceful surroundings and friendly staff.

I awoke to intermittent showers that are common in the Puget Sound area. There was an awesome bird just walking along the shoreline in search of breakfast and I enjoyed getting out my long lens to try my hand at some wildlife photography.
