My first stop on Whidbey Island after getting of the ferry was the Whidbey Island Winery. There were several wineries and vineyards on Whidbey Island, but this was on my route to the hotel in Langley.

One of the things I loved about Washington was the gorgeous flowers blooming everywhere. The winery was no exception with it’s beautiful garden and brightly colored flowers.

The tasting room was a cute little red building with a lovely garden and sitting area outside.

The tasting room itself was the typical cute room, filled with wine and wine-related gifts. I tasted several yummy wines on their list and was sad that I couldn’t take a few bottles with me.

Loving history and old photos, it was really neat to see their display of the early years on the vineyard & of course the easy explanation of winemaking was a good reminder too.

Not many grapes are usually grown on Whidbey Island, but they were one of the few that had their own vineyards as well as getting some grapes brought in from other parts of Washington. The grounds were alive with dozens of birds and butterflies enjoying the beautifully sunny afternoon.

All in all, a great little winery with delicious wine and a wonderful place to stop and sip on a few glasses if time allows.
