Landing in Seattle

Flying out West is so great for the simple fact that the geography is stunning from the air & the weather is usually clear to that you get great views of things like snow capped mountains.

Then there’s just crazy stuff like this- green mountains that slowly fade into a barren dessert criss-crossed with mesmerizing pattern of a million tiny rivers.

In the vast expanse of the desert, it’s always neat to see a strong powerful river cutting through the rock and winding its way to the ocean while creating a stunning canyon.

Out of the desert and into more green mountains as we approached what I think it Salt Lake City.

All the minerals in the ground make for some crazy colors from above where the water meets land and flows into the larger lake.

These areas didn’t look like they would be snow-covered year round, but they still have the white stuff even in late June.

Crossing into Washington State, things start to get more cloudy, but several snow covered peaks starts passing by.  I didn’t get to see Mt St. Helen’s on this flight, but some days the flight paths go right by it.

I’m pretty sure this is Mount Rainier again & it ironic that the ONLY way you can see the top of it on many days is from the air was a ring of clouds usually surround it.

Touching down in Seattle, there wasn’t too much to be seen from the air as it was a fairly cloudy day, but it was good to see lots of lakes and lots of green.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Headed to Dallas on one last work trip before vacation.
