On the 21st of May, I only have 14 posts to show so far for this month. So much for my daily blogging! But I’m OK with that. The last few weeks have been busy with work, I’ve felt more like hanging out on the couch watching a movie with my hubby rather than making collages. I visited with with my mom in the backyard with cranberry & vodkas while we ate tuna casserole instead of typing out my race report from 3 weeks ago. I indulged in a massage and did some shoe shopping while hubby was out of town all week instead of getting caught up on blogging. We celebrated with our with friends last weekend on a glorious sunny Saturday instead of posting something. I spent hours and days trying to plan a last minute getaway for us this summer working within all our tight time restrictions and logistics to sort out instead of processing more photos. That’s where I’ve been & I’m happy about those choices.
Work has been very busy & I expect it to go full steam for another few weeks- off to West Virginia and Vegas this week as hubby heads to Nashville and New York. I’m meeting up with some other Houston bloggers this morning, dropping by REI and then heading to work a few hours before we have a dinner with our friends. I may or may not get more caught up with some posts for this week while I travel, but I might be fine with just stepping away for a few more days as real life is more enjoyable to live than to blog about at the moment. I have a few photos & stories I need to get posted, but nothing that can’t wait a few more days.
The above photo was from our anniversary getaway to Belize in February. I love this lone boat sitting in the early evening sun. It gave me dreams about sailing away with hubby- to quit the job, to leave Houston, to run away from all the responsibilities and daily monotony. I could never and would never do such a thing- I really do have a very blessed life, but it’s fun to daydream about the adventures beyond the horizon and being free of all the things that tie us down. I think that’s why I love to travel so much- it’s just a mini “sail away” for a few days.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: We are OFFICIALLY booked for 1 week in Costa Rica in July!!!!!

I would love to go to Belize! I also love the lone boat picture, I wish I had that boat floating in the back of my house. It would make me think “where to next?”
It sounds like you really enjoyed the things you did away from the computer and it was much needed!
I had quite a few posts back in February/March about our Belize trip, you can find them all here on my travel page. The waters are so beautiful- I’ve never been anywhere with such gorgeous coasts and beaches. Thanks for stopping by!
I’ve been swamped at work too. I’m lucky if I’m finding the time to post once a week lately. But that’s life right, everything in phases?!
As always, great photo. Thanks for sharing! And HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!
