Sunday Scribblings #266: May- I try not to make the prompts too obvious or too seasonal, but for some reason this month just feels so much more specific than most. May is a month with a personality for me. I’m interested to see whether you feel the same.

Oh May! Oh may, oh my. It’s going to be an insane month. We kicked off May by recovering from our marathon (race recap coming soon I promise!) and flying home from Tennessee. H has already been to Baltimore & I’ve got several work trips this month. We’re still debating (and weather watching) on our Minneapolis trip next weekend. We’ve got a mom birthday & a 2 friends birthdays this month. May is such a transitional month to me- the Spring festivities of Easter and Mardi Gras are gone and we’ve recovered from our dual birthdays in April. Everybody is looking forward to the kick-off of summer with Memorial Day. The school year is wrapping up with tests, prom and end of years banquets.
May usually brings the end of all tolerable weather here in Houston, but we’ve had several days of surprisingly lovely weather here lately. May is the first month that makes me stop and think this year is flying by & we’re almost at the halfway point. Graduations and weddings abound, the last crawfish boils of the season, swim team is starting, hanging out at the pool with the pups, bringing out more white wine and stocking up on Sangria, evening on the patio and electricity bills creeping higher and higher, plentiful fresh and tasty fruits in the stores, celebrating mother’s day and several anniversaries.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: We’re going somewhere for a week in July & we’re hoping we didn’t wait to late to secure a permit to hike the Inca trail in Peru!
