Our second day of fishing started out beautiful again. I love riding in the boat around San Antonio Bay to the various spots & checking out all the birds. I’ve never see so many LARGE birds- especially these pelicans. They were everywhere! The estuary system along this area of the coast is supposedly one of the best in the world & usually means plentiful fish (when the weather cooperates). Boating around all the little cuts & passes, it was neat to see both the natural shoreline & how they are protecting it in certain places from erosion.

We’d only intended to fish a half-day on Saturday so we could head home for the evening, but the morning started out a bit more promising with a few of us catching fish. I carried my little P&S with me in the water (on a lasso around my neck) and I’d grab my big camera when I was safely back in the boat.

I caught one red fish on Saturday & hubby caught his first ever red fish. It’s really neat to be out there wading as a family, enjoying God’s creation & just hoping to catch an elusive fish on the end of your pole.

Lots of action shots & I love having such good photos of my 2 favorite men doing one of their favorite things.

I liked the post-processing on this when I did it, but not so much anymore! Oh well, too lazy to go back and re-do it, but I love the photos of hubby and his fish, bait still hanging out of it’s mouth.

The fishing was great, even if the catching was a little sparse (this is our haul from Saturday morning). We had such a great time at Bay Flats Lodge & hope to make it a yearly Easter weekend tradition, but with better weather next time.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Back to running & yoga this morning as hubby heads to Baltimore this afternoon.

Hi Amanda,
Thank you so much for the thoughtful response on my blog. I really appreciate it. I’ve never been fishing before-that looks like so much fun!

You are very welcome! Hope it helps a little bit. There’s all types of fishing & most people can find something they enjoy- offshore, night fishing, from a pier, wading or boat fishing.
