Since my birthday was last Saturday & hubby’s was the following Tuesday, we started celebrating on Thursday night, with a hair cut & massage for me, followed by dinner at the wine bar. We decided to stay home on Friday night & actually cook a meal, sit outside and enjoy the California weather (as I call it) since we were having a big bash with our friends on Saturday night. I had some spare time, so I was playing around with my tripod and the nifty feature on my new camera that takes multiple photos on a timer. Nibbling on cheese & shrimp, we caught up on the events of the week & enjoyed our green backyard.

The dogs played & we relaxed a while before attempting our second round of lobster cooking at home since our class years ago.

Let’s just say hubby needs to work on his lobster drop. It’s pretty freaky to go into Kroger & buy a living animal to eat for dinner! It really spooked the cashier that my bag was moving & we both felt a teensy bit bad about doing the actual killing ourselves. This guy was a wild one & flailed around after he was dropped into the boiling water.

Zoe wasn’t happy about her dinner being late, but she just had to wait until I was finished with my birthday dessert- a warm chocolate chunk brownie with some vanialla Blue Bell ice cream.

For my birthday, I got a new dry erase magnetic board for my office. I love that it’s both a beautiful art work & a functional thing that I want to use to stay organized and do a little creative scribbling from time to time. It was a custom piece I had made from Etsy seller Joyful Expressions, which makes some gorgeous pieces.

She worked with me to find details and special things I wanted to incorporate to make it match my pink office. I adore the scrabble words, the clock is straight up my alley, the adorable magnets are so fun to play with & I just love the colors and textures of the piece. H also gave me a photography workshop/GTG in Colorado for later this year & we planned out a few more trips for the upcoming weeks. (Hints: SAN, SEA, MSP…..). I picked up some “sport” sunglasses for work/running marathons in the daylight & I’m getting InvisaAlign for my birthday too.

Mom gave me a new briefcase to replace the one she gave me as a graduation present 8+ years ago. I’ve more than gotten my use out of it & it was time for a new one. I think I talked Dad into taking us out fishing again (on his boat) this summer sometime as our joint birthday gift.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Happy Easter- hope everybody has as wonderful day with friends & family.

That moving lobster pic is amazing. How did you do that? Super impressed!

Thanks- Photoshop will let you make a GIF file of several photos. There are lots of free online places that will create them too.
