A few weeks ago, when I bought flowers for the hubby, I took some photos when my camera was laying around. I decided that these were so beautiful that I really needed to drag out my macro lens and take some close-up photos of the stunning blend of colors and delicate petals on the tulips.

I was so surprised to see hints of blue (or a purple indigo color) inside the magenta flowers & really appreciated how the colors slowly blend and fade as the petals come together at the center. It was fun (but not easy) to do macro, but I’ve been very inspired by some of the drop-dead gorgeous flower macros that my friend Michele has been putting up and I imagine she will have many more coming as spring arrives up north.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Officially our new tradition on Good Friday- fishing with the family on a little over-night getaway.

You are too nice! I actually am planning to go out and shoot this weekend. Spring finally arrived here!
I love the first one!! You should shoot flowers more often!
