Two weekends ago, instead of a 2nd camping trip, we decided we needed to stay home for some R&R. The weather was gorgeous, so we headed out to the most gorgeous local place- the Woodlands for the Woodlands Waterway Art Festival.

We’ve really enjoyed the Bayou City Art Festival in the past, so we were excited to check out more art on a fabulous spring day on the waterfront.

They had everything- from painting & pottery to live music & mosaics. It was so peaceful to stroll beside the water & check out oils & metalworks

They had several acrylic on glass artists (similar to how my mom created our artwork) & many fun things I only wish I could afford. My favorite thing at these art shows are the travel photography- such gorgeous (GIANT) prints & photos that leave me itching to hop on a plane somewhere beautiful.

There was a stage with live music & several places offering various demonstrations. It was great to be out strolling around with my honey on such a gorgeous spring day in Texas. We ended up having drinks with our friends, since they were all out there at Goose’s Acre & then more drinks/snacks at Baker Street.

So much fun stuff there to see & appreciate. The older I get, the more I can soak up all art- regardless of my understanding of it, but I can recognize the amount of talent and work that went into all the pieces and value beautiful things. Speaking of beautiful things, I do think that living in the Woodlands will be on our long term goal list. Since I don’t see us moving to some place fabulous like Denver or California, I will settle for staying in Houston if I can be in the Woodlands.
