After our stop at Bernhardt Winery, we drove east a few miles and ended up at Retreat Hill Cellars, affiliated with Retreat Hill Winery & Vineyard. A sweet old couple offered to take our photos of hubby & I sporting our “Western” outfits & boots.

We actually parked in back & walked through a tiny little courtyard to get to the store front. The actual vineyard recently closed to the general public, but I was told that they are open for the various wine trails throughout the year & for special events. I still want to go check out the actual vineyard and winery, but the cellar was a pretty neat & very convenient stop.

The town of Montgomery has dozens of old shops with all sorts of knick-knacks and antiques. The turned this old bank into a neat bar & tasting room with some gorgeous large prints & a few tasty treats.

We did a tasting here & enjoyed checking out all the wine labels they had enlarged as art around the room.

All in all, we we enjoyed the wines & this neat little shop just outside of Houston, but I can’t wait to get to the vineyard someday.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: 13 mile run done this morning, I’m attending my 5 yoga class of the week this afternoon & there’s NO work in sight for this weekend- should be a great one!

I have to go here! It looks so pretty and it’s not too far away. My hubby’s mom actually lives in Montgomery. Thanks for sharing. Good job on the 13 mile run
