The next stop on my tour of the Forbidden Gardens was the pit full of black soldiers. They were near the main area with the terra cotta warriors, but these were a bit smaller & they were thinner/flatter.

I could get up fairly close to them which made for some nice camera angles & detail shots of their pitiful plaster faces cracked and barely hanging on. It’s funny that we all create things, big and small, that we think are important and significant, but we realize they will most likely crumble and fade with time. It’s just so sad to see a man’s life work and his passion, especially something as large and grand as the entire exhibit, be destroyed within a few decades of its creation. Just a reminder how temporal our time on this planet really will be.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Jeep has new tires, new windshield wiper blades and new struts on the hood and tailgate.
