Hubby in Hawaii

While I was at home resting up for the marathon & working hard on getting all of our photos caught up, hubby was in Hawaii for the Pro-Bowl with a client.  His company has an arrangement with the Texans (that’s how he was able to travel to Jacksonville earlier this season) & they flew out to Honolulu for 4 nights in paradise!  Neither of us had been to Hawaii & H was blown away by how gorgeous the island was and how amazing the waters were.  I think he must have had the camera set on night mode most of the trip because the photos came out rather poorly, but they are good enough to make me uber-jealous.

They stayed in a hotel right below the mountain of Diamond Head & went to the top one day to check out the views.  His client had a friend there & she was able to get them into a few cool NFL parties (did you know Warren Moon threw a VIP party?).

One day they did a SCUBA dive off the coast where H said he say some amazing wildlife & then they braved it on a cage dive for sharks.  Unfortunately, they only had 1 shark come by, but he got to see the back of the island.

He really enjoyed the beautiful beaches as he hung out right in front of his hotel & they also checked out a really big surf competition that was going on at the same time.

The NFL (and the Texans) had all sorts of special events- a luau welcome party, some meet & greet interview things with players, a street party in downtown the night before the game & a big tailgate party before the game on Sunday.

H said that after all the other amazing things, the actual ProBowl was anti-climatic.  They had great seats, but the stadium is much older than other typical NFL stadiums.   I love all the patriotic red & blue uniforms, but they still get to keep their team helmets.   How do they decide which cheerleaders get to be there? Is that like a cheerleader probowl?

All in all, he had a great time & it was an amazing once in a lifetime opportunity for a free trip to Hawaii & to see such a major sporting event.

Their final day, they did the trolley tour around the island & hit the major sites, but didn’t actually have time to go out to the USS Arizona before their red-eye flight back home.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Now that Hubby has seen how fantastic Hawaii is, hopefully we can go back next year.
