New York the Day After

Apparently, there was life after New Year’s Eve in Times Square & I missed a few pictures!  Most of these were technically taken in 2011, so it’s not that bad.  From Texas & unaccustomed to public transpiration/trains, I was fascinated to find that these time & line boards were still in use when we went to the train station.

First run of 2011 was with my BFF in Central Park- what a great start to an awesome running year.   The warm temps had melted much of the snow by Sunday morning & it was much less treacherous than just a few days earlier.

I’m pretty sure this was another one of the Trump buildings in NYC- there are a few & there is a pretty swanky mall just near here where we did some light shopping.

Just north of our hotel, it was candy-wonderland.   I was extremely tempted by the Hershey’s store, as they sport some of my favorite varieties of chocolate, but we ended up in the M&M’s store with it’s wall of every type & color of chocolate that they make.  Let me tell you- chocolate is so much more enjoyable in pink, turquoise and purple!

Just before Stephanie headed out of town, we decided to start the year off right with some famous New York pizza.  We ended up in John’s Pizzeria, inside a gorgeous old tabernacle.

No better way to end a trip that a scrumptious pizza & an apple martini!

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Two more weeks until I’m in Belize with the hubby- can’t wait!
