“A photograph is proof that someone cared enough to record this moment for the future.” -Jeff Curto
My dad dad celebrated his 60th birthday this past weekend & I’ll have tons of photos to blog shortly. For our family dinner, we actually went the weekend before to Saltgrass.

Typical family outing- sisters trying to embarrass the brothers, dad sporting the wranglers, fish belt & fish shirt, and several round of wine & cuba libras.

For his party, I drug up as many old photos as I could find to have on display & made a few quick collages that I wanted to share on this flashback Friday. I’ll see if I can identify what I can remember…. fishing at Bayflats last year, one of my birthdays, a family birthday dinner for Hunter, dad working his smoker, family portrait at my cousin’s wedding, Dad at Christmas & my college graduation in 2002.

Another from our fishing trip last year, dancing for dad’s birthday last year, us at my 30th birthday, two family birthday dinners and dad cutting up some of his famous smoked brisket.

I had a few from his wild fishing years, another Christmas picture, a Thanksgiving photo of us & one more from Bayflats last year.

Dad coaching Hunter’s baseball team for a few years, us skiing in Colorado in 1988 (?), playing the original Nintendo in our old house, his prom night, us with his brother at his sister’s wedding & another old skiing picture from Colorado.

The family at his brother’s wedding, us at my college graduation from UT in 2002, Dad & Brenda at my grandparent’s anniversary party, a really old Christmas photo & a really really old hunting photo.

A belated birthday dinner in Galveston (one of the first times they met H), dad carving up some more meat for dinner, Christmas 2006 looking forward to 2007, fishing with Hunter on his boat, a junior high awards banquet in 1994 & dad holding Hunter at their old house in 1994.
It was so great to have all of these old photos & the wonderful memories that they embodied. Part of my obsession with photography & making those photos permanent through the blog and my annual album is to have a tangible link to the past and a reminder of what an incredible ride this life has been.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: The pups made it on a 7.5 mile run with me this morning in the 20 degree temps + 10 mph winds.
