As I started off this year rocking in Times Square with my best friend, I never got to do an official New Year’s post, but HAPPY NEW YEAR to everybody- hope it is off to a good start so far. I’m not finished up with all my 2010 posts yet since I had a burst of photography excitement at the end, but I wanted to post my 2011 preview before we got into all the business of the year. The calendar is looking pretty jam packed the first few months & then the rest of the year is open for adventures.
January

My Dad will be celebrating 60 years of a a blessed life and we’re throwing him a birthday party in mid-January to gather with friends and family. My 8th annual running of the Houston marathon will be pushed back 2 weeks later than usual this year to the last weekend of January. Unfortunately for me, but lucky for my husband, he will be attending the Pr0-Bowl in Hawaii with customers on the same weekend. Lots of work travel already scheduled- a few trips to Dallas, Vegas/LA, and Florida.
February

February will be our first trip of the year together- to celebrate our 4th anniversary in Belize on Ambergris Caye doing some relaxing in the sun and diving in the Blue Hole. The annual Houston Rodeo Cook-off is the last weekend & now I’ve got some rocking boots to dress the part.
March

We’ve got a camping trip with friends planned and, my brother will turn 17! As usual, the Rodeo will be taking up 3 weekends in the month & I’m sure we’ll make our way to a few shows. I will be spending a week in DC for a training seminar and hopefully doing some sightseeing too.
April

April is always jam packed with fun- another weekend of fishing with my parents for Good Friday & camping with the friends. I’ll be celebrating my 31st birthday and H will be ringing in his 34th birthday; I think we are going to plan a wine tour with our friends. The last weekend in April, we are headed to Nashville so H can visit customers and I can run my 2nd (of many) marathons of the year with my best friend Stephanie.
May
We will of course be hosting the mother’s at our house for Mother’s day and planning our annual crawfish boil at our house.
June
Our next long weekend will be in June when we head to San Diego to run my 3rd marathon of the year & as H gets to check off another baseball stadium on his list. Mia will be celebrating her 2nd birthday and hopefully growing out of her wild spell.July

Summer will be in full swing and we will have more swimming with the pups! I’m in the process of getting my 3rd professional paper published & possibly presented in Tahoe. Not yet booked, but we are planning to head to the French Polynesia for our big trip of the year- Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora and Tikehau for 2 weeks.
August
Rest and recover from our big trip & get ready for H’s busy season at work.
September

Gah, my sister will be turning 16 and starting to drive!!! No plans yet for Labor Day, but probably our annual pool party if we are in town. My brother will be starting his senior year of high school & applying to colleges. I’ll be headed back to Philadelphia to see my best friend & run the Philadelphia Rock ‘n’ Roll half-marathon with her.

October

Going to the State Fair has long been on our list & hopefully this year we can make it happen & if I’m still walking, I might make a quick dash up to Denver to see relatives and run the Denver Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon.
November

Still a long way out & I’ll have to see how I’m holding out, but I’d like to head over to San Antonio for a long weekend and run the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon there if my luck is bad again for the New York City marathon lottery. Also thinking about taking a very cool BMW driving course in South Carolina through SAE for my continuing education.
December
It was a really crazy year with family & the holidays, and we are seriously contemplating going somewhere sunny and tropical to relax for Christmas and New Years….pondering Costa Rica at this point, but I’m open to any (and all) suggestions.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: 21 miles with friends this morning- last training run before the Houston marathon.

Sounds like you have a fabulous year. I can’t believe how many races you have planned this year. Maybe we can meet-up while you’re in Nashville, since I’m seriously considering making that my first 1/2 marathon!!

I know! I think I’ve done gone and lost my mind
For years, I was “1 and done!” with marathons, but for some reason I just want to run as many as I can (while seeing fun places!). It would be awesome to meet up in Nashville- I’m super excited that race is on Saturday. I still owe you a drink for getting us those tickets
Happy training!
