I’d love to have a festive, holiday post for today, but I’m desperately trying to cram in all the left-over 2010 posts in before the end of the year. So this was my “office” when we moved into the house in March & I painted it pink back in June, but still needed to tidy everything up and do all the decor.
Late this past summer, I replaced the carpet with wood floors & added a chair rail and crown molding to the ceilings. H helped out by re-hanging my book shelves.
I really struggled with what to do with my poor couch (i.e. glorified dog bed). I’d had this beautiful pink quilt that I’d loved, but the strands were getting caught and pulled on the dogs nails.
I’d searched high & low looking for just the right fun & funky blanket to throw on the futon. I’d originally purchased this, but decided it really didn’t match my new wall colors.
I eventually found a sheet set & realized a fitted sheet works really well on the couch. I found some great green & blue accents at Target, so I slowly started adding those colors to balance all the pink.
Mia managed to eat most of the old pillows & my sister made me that adorable throw blanket.
Only last month did I find a rug that I really liked & finally organized all the things on my shelves.
I love all my photos on the wall- both family & the girls. I’ve got extra pictures & cards stored in the boxes- trying to stay organized.
Seeing as how I’ve got a busy year planned, I might need to invest in another medal hanger. I still have a big empty spot on the wall above my desk, but I haven’t seen anything that I’m dying to do with that area yet.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Shopping all done, cleaning all done, wrapping all done, baking all done- bring on Christmas!
