As part of our on-going marriage contract, hubby agreed to have our yearly photos taken in July. Last year we took pics with Mia, as she was a puppy, but this year I hired a real photographer (Mia Bella) & I wanted a couple’s shoot downtown. We started out at the super-swanky wine bar (Cork Wine Bar) & then made our way around downtown.

The light and surroundings were much more favorable outside, so we decided to take a walk and round a gorgeous blue wall.

I really don’t recommend this type of activity for July- wait until at least October or November in Houston. We had fun, but were hot as heck!

I can’t believe we are closing in on 4 years of marriage! There have been highs & lows, good times & rocky moments, but I’m still madly in love with my husband.

Next stop, we headed upstairs where Lucky Strike is located & above the House of Blues. Did I mention that we saw Timbaland at HOB in April- but I lost all the pictures? It was a surprisingly good concert & a great venue.

The nice thing about up there was the cooling breeze. Downtown Houston has changed to much in the last 10 years & we are so excited that things are moving and shaking down there.

I tried to see if Hubby remembered any of our Latin love moves, but sadly, he’d forgotten how to basic salsa moves

I still love him even if he can’t (won’t!) dance with me….

Next, we headed down to the Discovery Green area & there were some amazing plants that disguised the fact that there were millions of kids running around & sky scrapers towering over us.

We even managed to find one of the very few hills in all of Houston as the sun set.

As I’ve run the marathon every year, the George R. Brown Convention Center is symbolic of the beginning and end of that day’s journey, and there is a hysterical story about these Tetris cubes (as I call them). I kept thinking they were “art” or bathrooms or something like that, but we finally realized they were just stairs to the underground parking lots! I’m so glad we took these pics, even if hubby wanted to kill me the whole time. We have one of them on a canvas in our bedroom & I love that somebody did such an awesome job of capturing the emotions we share.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Started Christmas shopping yesterday & got about 90% done today (+ all my wrapping!) and the “lounge” area has now been painted!

Great pics! Happy you two are doing well and still madly in love.
What’s a marriage contract?
haha…he was so stinkin’ tired of taking photos on our wedding day and day-after (trash the dress) session that he begged & pleaded (and negotiated) that we’d skip our last planned pictures that day (on the surf, in the water) and he’d take promise to take real pictures with me every year we were married
I’m holding him to that & we’ve had lots of good pictures so far! Hope you are doing well Christy & have a very merry christmas!
Ah, gotcha.
Silly hubby should have just taken those last day of pics, but lucky for you now you two get pics together every year. Very smart!
