Chili Times

Two weeks ago, when the weather dipped down into the 20′s, I decided it was time to try my hand at making some homemade chili.  I found this recipe for Boilermake Tailgate Chili, with 1870 reviews & 5 stars, it had to be good.  It called for a lot of ingredients, which usually makes me weary, but I decided to go for it anyway.

Three pounds of meat, 5 cans of beans, several peppers & lots of chopped onions sounded like a good start.

Brown the meat & the stir in everything else- let it simmer for a few hours while the house starts to smell delicious.

The chili turned out lovely, but I’ve decided it’s one of those things like coffee- I really like the way it smells, but I’m not a huge fan of actually eating.  After doing a little bit of decorating, a hot bowl of chili was the perfect thing to warm us up on a cold winter night.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY:  I can’t believe we are a week away from Christmas- I need to do some shopping!
