Our second stop of the day was at the newly opened Bending Branch Winery, just outside the aptly named town of Comfort, TX. The tasting room & patio area are newly constructed next to the vineyard owner’s home- we even met their sweet dog!
The only place we encountered stools at the bar area & we used the opportunity to visit with the son/father wine makers (seen in photos).
One of the things I love about exploring Texas wineries is that there are so many varietals to try here above & beyond the regular Chardonnary, Merlot & Cab.
I’m really hoping this is what my back patio looks like one day! It was still before noon & there wasn’t anybody out yet enjoying the rather frigid day.
There’s a nice little view out the front of the tasting room & from the patio, which I’m sure is much more beautiful in the spring & summer time.
On our way to the next winery, we drove across this river & H spotted deer. Wee quickly pulled over & walked back to take more photos.
Such a sweet family of deer! Moments like this I love my 200mm zoom lens & my ability to crop my pictures! They ran away pretty quickly as we walked out on to the bridge, but it was so neat to see such beautiful creatures.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Going to meet up with a local photographer today to do some photos around Houston.
