Sister Creek Vineyards

Out first stop on our full day wine tour was at an awesome little winery called Sister Creek Vineyards.

So many of the wineries & vineyards in Texas are “newer” & have fancy buildings, but I loved how they turned this old cotton mill into their tasting room & wine cellar.

I’m such a sucker for pretty wine bottles dripping with awards telling me how yummy they will be.

The inside is so quaint & cozy decorated with many of the old tools & antiques from the mill.

I’ll admit- I’m a bottle girl! I love to see the bottles & labels, especially when doing wine tastings.  I really liked that they had all the bottles sitting out so I could read the labels on each one as we tried it.

Then the really cool part- they have it all set up so you can do a self-guided tour through the barrel & fermenting rooms.  It had been a record harvest this past year, so they were icing large vats of the wine until they could bottle it up.

A few sips of lovely wine & a trip to the barrel room were a great way to start out wine day!

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY:  Gave up on DVD’s for backups & switched to online backup Mozy- I think it will take about 2 months to back up my 700 GB of data.
