After dinner & watching movies in bed, we fell asleep early Friday night, so we were out and about early on Saturday morning- when it was 20 degrees! Just East of Fredericksburg is Wildseed Farms, the largest working wildflower farm in the country. I’d seen it before, but hadn’t had time to stop in to check out the gigantic nursery.

Obviously a winter day isn’t the best time to tour the place, but the cactus were still looking fine & hubby was amazed that there were cactus in the hill country.

There are lots of plants outside & all sorts of knickknacks inside for a little shopping experience.

They offer all sorts of events & music throughout the day, plus lots of sample tasting (including wine!) inside their cafe. The roaring fires, both inside & out, were probably my favorite part.

H wanted to stop by Luckenbach & it was on our way to our first winery, so we stopped in about 9:30AM. Not too much happening during the daylight hours, but I bet the dance hall gets packed at night.

I tried to explain to H that Luckenbach really isn’t a town, it’s more like a bar/saloon/postoffice/campground area. My favorite thing is the amazing trees all around the river & on this particular morning, that they had the old-time stoves providing heat inside.

I need to quit stopping by during the morning & make it back out for an afternoon show at this awesome little side-stage. And roosters- random roosters roaming around everywhere. The signs encouraged people to please keep their dogs leashed.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: My blog makeover is in progress- I am so stinking excited to have everything fixed and beautiful!
