Duchman Family Winery

Our first stop on our wine weekend was the Duchman Family Winery in Driftwood, just down the street from the Saltlick.  This is a winery & an upscale trattoria on a beautiful hill.

There has been some changeover from this being labeled Mandola (which the restaurant is still operated) & the Duchman being the sole wine group.

The grounds are absolutely gorgeous & it would be a lovely place for a wedding underneath the majestic oak trees.

The tasting area was new & fancy- tall ceilings, some crackers, a few deli items for sale & a good tasting list.  They also had large windows into their barrel room & one of the bottling rooms which was very cool to check out.

This was the main tasting area & it was large enough for aseveral couples, plus a smaller bar in the main entrance (pictured in the 1st collage above).

Our wine weekend was off to a great start & this winery would make a great lunch stop if you want to also eat at the restaurant.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: I love chocolate chip cookies straight from the oven.
