Friends & Fun in Puerto Vallarta

Just one gratetious post about all our friends and fun in Puerto Vallarta before I move along to the main event- the wedding!  It’s so great vacationing with friends- hanging out in the pool, volleyball on the beach, drinking strawberry daiquiris until you lips turn red, laughing until it hurts and catching up on all the stories.

The weather was perfect all weekend.  We shut down the main pool and swim up bar at 5 o’clock Thursday & Friday, when they kicked us out to the adult pool.  We went into town both nights to hit up the clubs & tear up the dance floors.

During the late summer/ early fall, the hotel does a baby turtle release every night.  Several hundred eggs hatch every day & they are released each evening at sunset.  They have a short presentation about their conservation program and a brief introduction to the turtles.

It’s such a great excuse to be on the beach as the sunset, watching that special time where the world transitions from sunny fun beach time to romantic quiet evening on the beach.

We were lucky and treated to an amazing sunset that evening & had time to soak it all in.

On Friday, we welcomed Mark’s parents- whom he has known for 15 years to Puerto Vallarta.  Most evenings would find various people from our group sitting around the upper bars or club, chatting, laughing, drinking and making merry.

A small group of us went out Thursday night & a pretty big group hit the town on Friday night after the rehearsal dinner.  There are numerous shots that are not approved for a blog, but we had a blast!  I’ll warn you to stay away from the shot-girl with the whistle, she’s dangerous!

Also stay away from flaming shot with lime & cinnamon- they are so nasty!  The clubs were open air to the Malecon & it was great to watch all the people & see the ocean in the distance.

We had a great time re-visiting all the memories from our wedding, but didn’t have nearly enough time on vacation or time together to relax between all the official wedding duties.  We did manage to steal away a few quiet moments for walks on the beach & sightseeing downtown in between the rehearsals and wedding duties of the best man.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Happy 50th birthday to my step-mom and running buddy Brenda!
